PlayStation Home Gameplay HD Videos
We finally had the chance to get in PlayStation Home Beta and couldn’t resist to share some content.
You’ll see a few features, some areas and lots of loading in the videos…
Yeah as you guessed, unfortunately Home is a huge disappointment. Basically it compete more with MSN, AIM and other instant messaging platforms instead of bringing PlayStation Network users a breakthrough in online gaming and community ! Playing chess, draughts, echochrome (SONY Ericsson mobile version), Bowling (Halo physic style), checking empty stores (ready to sell you useless stuff), hang out around places and chatting is all you’ll have to do for now in Home.
But hey, it can only get better because of Home Alpha Beta status !
When millions of users will connect to it maybe SONY will have the genius idea to add more rows at the bowling, more pools or arcade systems… Because waiting line will get longer as user base grow with only fives rows, six pools and ten arcade systems per regions !
Regions, another mistake according to us, why split the World ? Allow us to play together ! As you’ll be able to notice on the videos, places have different architectures and content according to your PlayStation Network ID country. We’ve tested European, United States and Japan accounts.
Finally, here are some features which we think could be useful in future Beta versions.
- First, logging chats. All modern instant messaging tools offer that feature. And for addicted, it’ll be useful.
- Second, Home could keep a list of player met during chess, bowling or pool parties… Like XMB does.
- The last thing is about parental control ! Meeting weird people is difficult to control but videos displayed on screens around all places are. For example, Far Cry 2 trailer is shown on most of the screens in the US Home. Game is rated M. A feature displaying Little Big Planet or Buzz trailers instead if the PlayStation 3 account is locked on Teen or Everyone 10+ would be appreciated.
It’s frustrating to imagine the potential that Home could offer and realize the path walked since 2005. Naturally we keep in mind that it’s still work in progress, but for how long ? Will the final version bring new features ? Will places enlarge at launch ? How many bucks will user have to spend to create a club ? We have tons of questions that SONY should clarify. Because hype Home as they do since months only hurt them when players finally use it and can’t see the work they’ve done and don’t know where that’ll lead them.

Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 2 Gameplay HD Videos
On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness is based on the Web comic Penny Arcade.
Hothead Games released the game as a download on many platforms such as Mac OS X, Linux, Windows, XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3.
The game mixes cartoon cinematic, close to the comic, with 3D gameplay.
The story takes place months after Episode 1 ended. Player is once again recruited by Tycho and Gabe to help them track down Fruit Fuckers Prime…

Age of Booty Gameplay HD Video
Age of Booty is a realtime strategy game in which player control a pirate boat.
Objective is to capture a certain number of towns. You’ll be able to sink other players/AI ships and put your hands on their treasures ! It can be money, wood, rhum or special card. Upgrading your ship is the key to become faster, stronger and to make your ship’s cannons more powerful.
Capcom published the game and left Certain Affinity in charge of the development. And actually, they did a great job, the game is fun to play and rounds can be very long while playing against hard AI or good players online. Technically it run smoothly on both PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 (PC version not yet available).
The video is a local challenges on the Pirate Queen map. It’s downloadable in 720p (30fps, 394 MB) or directly enjoyable through Youtube player.
